Mixed Martial Arts is the most complete combat sport in the world — and the fastest-growing sport among young people. At Gymnasia in Tbilisi, teens ages 10-16 learn to combine striking and grappling into a unified system of self-defense and athletic excellence. MMA develops versatile, confident, disciplined young people who know how to handle themselves in any situation.
| Age Group | Focus | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| 10-13 years | Fundamentals of striking (boxing, kicks), takedowns, basic ground control, positional grappling, self-defense scenarios | 60 min |
| 14-16 years | Advanced striking combinations, wrestling, submission grappling, supervised sparring, competition preparation | 60 min |
Class structure: Warm-up and conditioning, technique instruction (alternating striking and grappling focus), partner drills, situational sparring (advanced students), cool-down.
What to bring: Comfortable sportswear, MMA gloves or boxing gloves, mouthguard. Gear available at krivi.ge. For trial classes, sportswear is fine — we provide equipment.

Our teen MMA program is led by experienced coaches who bring competition-level expertise and a passion for developing young athletes.

Yes. Teen MMA at Gymnasia is structured martial arts education, not fighting. Beginners spend weeks learning technique before any partner work. Sparring is only for experienced students with full protective equipment and close supervision. Our coaches prioritize safety above all.
Our MMA program starts from age 10. For younger children, we recommend building a foundation in a single discipline first — Judo, BJJ, Karate, or Boxing.
No. While many of our MMA students come from backgrounds in judo, BJJ, or karate, complete beginners are welcome. The program teaches all fundamentals from the ground up.
Comfortable sportswear for the first class. For regular training: MMA gloves or boxing gloves, mouthguard, shin guards. Equipment available at krivi.ge. We provide gear for trial classes.
MMA develops intense focus, emotional regulation, and self-discipline. Teens who train regularly report improved concentration at school, better stress management, and increased confidence in social situations.
The opposite. MMA training teaches controlled aggression — the ability to channel energy productively. Teens who train martial arts consistently show decreased aggressive behavior because they learn respect, self-control, and the understanding that real strength means restraint.
Yes. We have a parent viewing area where you can observe every session.
Absolutely. Many MMA students cross-train in BJJ, Boxing, Kickboxing, or Judo to deepen specific skills.
MMA teaches teens that real confidence comes from competence — knowing that you can handle yourself in any situation, standing or on the ground. It builds physical fitness, mental resilience, and the discipline to succeed in everything they pursue. Start with a free trial class.
