Gymnastics & Acrobatics for Kids in Tbilisi — Ages 4-8 & 9+ | Gymnasia Sports Academy

Gymnastics & Acrobatics at Gymnasia (Ages 4-8 & 9+)

Gymnastics is the sport that makes every other sport possible. At Gymnasia in Tbilisi, children from age 4 through teens develop the flexibility, strength, balance, and body control that give them an athletic advantage for life — whether they pursue competitive gymnastics, another sport, or simply want to feel confident and capable in their own body.

Why Gymnastics for Your Child?

  • The ultimate physical foundation: Gymnastics develops flexibility, strength, coordination, balance, and spatial awareness — the core skills that transfer to every sport your child will ever try
  • Confidence through mastery: Learning a handstand, back walkover, or aerial gives children an extraordinary sense of achievement and self-belief
  • Discipline & perseverance: Gymnastics requires patience and practice — children learn that consistent effort leads to results
  • Injury prevention: The body awareness and flexibility developed in gymnastics helps prevent injuries in all other physical activities
  • Creative expression: Beyond technique, gymnastics and acrobatics allow children to express themselves through movement in ways that are both beautiful and thrilling

Parents Ask Us

Is gymnastics safe for my child?

Yes. All skills are taught through careful, progressive steps with hands-on coach spotting. Children practice on professional mats with crash pads for advanced skills. No child attempts a skill they are not physically ready for.

What age can my child start?

Our gymnastics program starts from age 4 in the foundational group. For younger children (1-3), we recommend Baby Gym or Jungle Gym to develop basic motor skills first.

Does my child need previous experience?

Not at all. Our 4-8 group is designed for complete beginners. The 9+ group welcomes both newcomers and experienced gymnasts — coaches adapt to each child's level.

What should my child wear?

Comfortable, stretchy sportswear — leggings or shorts with a fitted top. Hair tied back securely. Barefoot on our mats. No jewelry.

How will gymnastics help with school performance?

Gymnastics develops focus, body awareness, and the ability to follow multi-step instructions. The discipline of practicing until a skill is mastered builds academic perseverance and attention span.

Will my child get hurt?

We take extensive precautions. Every skill is coach-spotted, progressions are gradual, and we use professional mats and crash pads. Gymnastics has inherent physical demands, but in our supervised environment with proper progressions, serious injuries are very rare.

Can my child compete?

For children in the 9+ group who show aptitude and desire, we offer competition preparation and entry into gymnastics competitions. Competition is always optional.

Can I watch the class?

Yes! We have a parent viewing area where you can observe every session.

How does this differ from the Kids Acrobatics program?

Our Kids Acrobatics program (ages 4-8) is an introductory, play-focused class. The Sports Academy Gymnastics & Acrobatics program includes both the foundational 4-8 group and the advanced 9+ group with more structured training, conditioning, and optional competition preparation.

Can my child combine gymnastics with other sports?

Absolutely. Gymnastics is the ideal complementary sport — the flexibility, balance, and body control developed here enhance performance in every martial art, team sport, and individual discipline. Many of our students also train in Karate, Judo, or BJJ.
