Kickboxing Classes in Tbilisi — Train at Gymnasia

Kickboxing at Gymnasia

Kickboxing is the perfect fusion of boxing's hand speed and karate's devastating kicks — and at Gymnasia in Tbilisi, we teach it as both a complete combat sport and one of the most effective full-body workouts you will ever experience. Our kickboxing program delivers explosive cardio, functional strength, real self-defense skills, and the mental toughness that comes from learning to strike with purpose. Whether you want to fight or just feel like a fighter, this is where you start.

Why Kickboxing at Gymnasia?

  • Total Body Conditioning: Kickboxing uses every muscle group — legs for kicks, core for rotation, arms for punches, shoulders for guard. A single class burns more calories than most gym workouts and builds lean, functional athleticism.
  • Practical Striking Skills: Unlike cardio kickboxing classes at fitness studios, our program teaches real technique — proper form on jabs, crosses, hooks, front kicks, roundhouse kicks, and combinations that work in sparring and self-defense.
  • Cardiovascular Powerhouse: Kickboxing intervals — alternating between high-intensity combinations and active recovery — push your cardio capacity to new levels. Members consistently report dramatic improvements in stamina and energy.
  • Stress Relief and Confidence: There is nothing quite like hitting pads with full power after a long day. Kickboxing is a healthy outlet for stress, and the skills you develop build genuine self-confidence.
  • Qualified, Safety-Focused Coaching: Our trainers ensure that classes are conducted with proper technique and progressive intensity. Beginners work at their own pace while advanced students push their limits.

What to Expect in Your First Class

A kickboxing class at Gymnasia runs 60 to 90 minutes. You start with a dynamic warm-up — jump rope, shadow boxing, footwork drills — to get your body ready. The instructor then introduces the striking techniques of the day: punches, kicks, knee strikes, and combinations. You will drill on heavy bags, work pad combinations with a partner, and practice defensive movement. More experienced students participate in controlled technical sparring toward the end of class. The session closes with a conditioning circuit and stretching. Wear comfortable athletic clothing and supportive shoes. Gloves and hand wraps are available for your first class.

  • Shota Gogrichiani — Professional MMA and Kickboxing fighter and coach. Coach Gogrichiani brings real fight experience and modern striking methodology to every session. Instagram

Frequently Asked Questions

Is kickboxing suitable for complete beginners?

Absolutely. Kickboxing is one of the easiest martial arts to pick up because the basic movements — punching and kicking — are natural and intuitive. Our coaches break down every technique for newcomers and ensure you train at your own pace. You do not need any martial arts background.

What should I wear to class?

Comfortable athletic clothing and supportive shoes (cross-trainers or boxing shoes). Hand wraps and boxing gloves are recommended for regular training — available at krivi.ge. For your trial class, loaner equipment is available.

How often should I train kickboxing?

For fitness goals, 2 to 3 sessions per week delivers excellent results. If you want to develop real fighting skill, 3 to 4 sessions per week, combined with strength training, is ideal. Competitive kickboxers often train 5 to 6 days per week.

Do I need my own equipment?

For your trial class, Gymnasia provides everything. For regular training, you will want hand wraps, boxing gloves, and eventually shin guards for sparring. All available at krivi.ge.

Is kickboxing safe? What about injuries?

Kickboxing at Gymnasia emphasizes proper technique from day one, which is the best injury prevention. Beginners work on bags and pads — no sparring until you are ready. When sparring begins, it is controlled and supervised with required protective equipment.

Can I compete?

Yes. Gymnasia supports competitive kickboxers with tournament preparation and fight training. If competition is your goal, our coaches will develop a specific training plan for you.

What age groups can train?

Our adult kickboxing program is open to anyone 16 and older, at any fitness level.

How is kickboxing different from boxing and Muay Thai?

Kickboxing combines boxing's punches with kicks (low, mid, and high) but generally does not include the elbow strikes, knee strikes, and clinch work found in Muay Thai. It sits between boxing and Muay Thai in terms of the weapons available. If you want to punch and kick but with a faster, more boxing-influenced rhythm, kickboxing is your sport.

Ready to Step on the Mat?

Kickboxing at Gymnasia will transform your fitness, your confidence, and your ability to defend yourself — all while being one of the most enjoyable workouts you have ever done. Your first class is free. Show up, put on the gloves, and find out what you are made of.
