Body Ballet brings the discipline of classical ballet into a modern fitness context. At Gymnasia in Tbilisi, this class fuses ballet barre technique, Pilates core work, and functional conditioning into an elegant full-body workout that sculpts lean muscle, transforms posture, and develops the kind of grace and body awareness that no other training method can deliver. You do not need dance experience. You need the willingness to challenge your body in a completely new way.
Posture Transformation: Ballet-based training is the gold standard for postural alignment. Through barre work and controlled movements, you develop the spinal awareness and muscular balance that counteracts years of sitting and screen time.
Lean, Sculpted Physique: Body Ballet builds long, defined muscles without bulk. The combination of isometric holds, slow controlled movements, and high repetition work creates a toned, athletic silhouette that reflects real functional strength.
Flexibility and Grace: Each class systematically improves your range of motion through active stretching integrated into every exercise. Over time, you move with a fluidity and elegance that extends far beyond the studio.
Mind-Body Connection: Like all great movement disciplines, Body Ballet demands focus. The precision of each movement, synchronized with breath and music, creates a meditative quality that reduces stress and sharpens mental clarity.
Each Body Ballet class runs approximately 55 minutes and flows through a structured sequence: barre warm-up with plies, tendus, and releves; center work including port de bras and balance exercises; floor conditioning with Pilates-inspired core and glute work; and a closing stretch and cool-down set to beautiful music. Intensity is moderate — expect your muscles to burn and shake. Wear form-fitting clothing (leggings and a fitted top), ballet slippers or grip socks. Mats and barres are provided.
Body Ballet is perfect for anyone who wants to improve posture, develop graceful movement quality, tone their body, or add an artistic dimension to their fitness routine.
Gymnasia's Lisi location provides a dedicated training space with ballet barres, mirrors, professional mats, and a sound system that brings the class to life with carefully selected music. The clean, well-lit environment creates the perfect setting for focused, elegant training. Post-class sauna access is available.

Absolutely. Body Ballet is designed for fitness, not performance. No prior dance or ballet experience is needed. Our instructors teach each position from the ground up and offer modifications for every level.
Form-fitting clothing — leggings and a tank top or fitted long-sleeve — so your instructor can see your alignment. Ballet slippers, grip socks, or bare feet. Avoid baggy clothing and running shoes.
Two to three times per week is ideal for noticeable improvements in posture, tone, and flexibility within four to six weeks. Even once a week provides benefits for body awareness and stress relief.
No. Body Ballet is for every body type and fitness level. Flexibility develops with practice, and the class builds strength regardless of your starting point. The focus is on your own progress, not comparison.
Regular practice improves posture and spinal alignment, builds lean muscle and core strength, increases flexibility and range of motion, enhances balance and coordination, strengthens feet and ankles, and reduces stress through focused, rhythmic movement.
Yes. Body Ballet is an excellent complement to virtually any training style. It pairs naturally with Pilates for comprehensive core and flexibility work, with CrossFit for improved mobility and body control, and with combat sports for enhanced footwork and balance.
No. While the class appeals to many women, the physical demands — balance, core strength, flexibility, control — benefit everyone. Professional male athletes and dancers train these exact qualities.
Body Ballet burns calories through sustained muscular work and isometric holds. Combined with proper nutrition, it contributes to fat loss while building the lean, toned physique many members seek. It reshapes your body rather than simply shrinking it.
Your first class is free and no dance background is needed. Experience the unique fusion of ballet elegance and modern fitness at Gymnasia — the most refined training experience in Tbilisi.
