Animal Flow Classes in Tbilisi — Move Like Nature Intended at Gymnasia

Animal Flow at Gymnasia

Animal Flow strips fitness back to its most primal form. At Gymnasia in Tbilisi, this ground-based movement practice teaches you to crawl, twist, transition, and flow using nothing but your own body. Inspired by the locomotion patterns of animals and drawn from disciplines like gymnastics, breakdancing, parkour, and hand-balancing, Animal Flow builds strength, mobility, coordination, and body awareness in ways that traditional gym training simply cannot match.

Why Animal Flow at Gymnasia?

  • Movement Freedom: Forget machines and repetitive motions. Animal Flow takes you through multi-planar, multi-directional patterns that unlock your body's natural capacity for fluid, creative movement. You learn to move in ways you have not moved since childhood.

  • Full-Body Integration: Every flow engages your entire body as a connected chain. Your wrists, shoulders, core, hips, and ankles all work together, building the kind of integrated strength that translates to athletic performance and resilient daily movement.

  • Injury Prevention and Mobility: Animal Flow is one of the most effective practices for developing wrist strength, hip mobility, thoracic rotation, and shoulder stability — the very areas that break down with sedentary lifestyles and repetitive training.

  • No Equipment Needed: Just your body and open floor space. This makes Animal Flow one of the purest tests of your physical capabilities and one of the most transferable skills you can develop.

What to Expect

Each Animal Flow class runs approximately 55 minutes and progresses through wrist mobilizations and warm-up, the six core components (Beast, Crab, Ape, and other locomotion forms), traveling forms and transitions, switches and flow links, and a final choreographed flow combining everything learned. Intensity is moderate to high — your own bodyweight provides more than enough challenge. Wear comfortable clothing that allows unrestricted movement. Bare feet recommended.

Animal Flow is ideal for athletes seeking better body control, movers who crave creative expression, and anyone bored by conventional gym routines.

Our Facility

For the lowest monthly membership price in whole Tbilisi (150 Gel), the gym is just outstanding — very modern, clean and almost nobody during day time.

Gymnasia is the best and the only place in Tbilisi to train OCR/Ninja. You can buy accessories needed for the sport. Prices are decent too.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Animal Flow suitable for beginners?

Yes. Every movement has regressions and progressions. Beginners start with static holds and basic locomotion, gradually building toward flowing transitions. You do not need any prior movement training to start.

What should I wear?

Comfortable athletic clothing that does not restrict hip or shoulder movement. Shorts or joggers and a fitted shirt work well. Bare feet are recommended for better grip and foot activation. No shoes needed.

How often should I do Animal Flow?

Two to three sessions per week yields significant improvements in mobility and body control within a month. Animal Flow also works well as a warm-up or cool-down complement to other training days.

Do I need to be strong or flexible to start?

No. Animal Flow builds strength and flexibility simultaneously from wherever you begin. Many people are surprised by how challenging basic positions are — and how quickly they progress with consistent practice.

What are the health benefits of Animal Flow?

Regular practice improves wrist and shoulder stability, hip mobility, thoracic spine rotation, coordination, proprioception, core strength, and overall body awareness. It also enhances neurological function by challenging your brain to control complex movement patterns.

Can I combine Animal Flow with other classes at Gymnasia?

Animal Flow pairs beautifully with nearly every discipline. Use it alongside CrossFit for improved mobility, with combat sports for better ground movement and body control, or with yoga for a comprehensive movement practice that covers all planes of motion.

Is Animal Flow a real workout?

Absolutely. Do not let the playful appearance fool you. Holding a Beast position for 30 seconds will shake your entire body. Traveling Apes will challenge your cardio. A five-minute flow will leave you breathing hard. Your bodyweight is more than enough.

Who created Animal Flow?

Animal Flow was created by Mike Fitch, a fitness educator who synthesized elements from gymnastics, breakdancing, hand-balancing, parkour, and animal locomotion into a systematic bodyweight practice.
