Parents Ask Us

Is Kyokushin Karate safe for my child?

Yes. While Kyokushin is full-contact for adults, children's training is carefully adapted with progressive contact levels. 4-6 year olds practice no-contact technique and katas. Older children gradually introduce light contact with full protective equipment. All training is personally supervised by Sensei Nikoleishvili.

What age can my child start karate?

Our youngest group starts from age 4 with playful, game-based training that introduces basic karate movements and dojo discipline.

Does my child need previous experience?

No experience needed. Sensei Nikoleishvili and our team adapt training to each child's level. Every champion started as a beginner.

What should my child wear/bring?

A karate gi (uniform) is required for regular classes. You can purchase one at krivi.ge. For your first trial class, comfortable sportswear is fine.

How will karate help with school performance?

Kyokushin karate demands intense focus, memorization of katas, and the discipline to practice until a technique is perfected. These habits transfer directly to academic success, improved concentration, and respectful behavior at school.

Will my child get hurt?

Children's karate at Gymnasia is carefully structured with age-appropriate contact levels. Young children do no-contact work. Any sparring for older students uses full protective gear under close supervision. Sensei Nikoleishvili's priority is always safety first.

Can I watch the class?

Yes! We have a parent viewing area where you can observe every session.

Who is the head coach?

Tariel Nikoleishvili — World Champion in Kyokushin Karate, twice Champion of Japan, and European Champion. One of the most accomplished karate practitioners in the world.

Can my child train with adults?

In select sessions, children can train alongside adults — a unique inter-generational learning opportunity that accelerates development and deepens respect for the art.

Can my child try multiple sports?

Yes. Karate pairs well with Kickboxing for expanded striking skills, or with grappling arts like Judo and BJJ for a complete martial arts education.
